The Game
You definitely should check it out
Man, have you been watching Neebs Gaming play Darkness Falls in 7 Days to Die? That series is insane! I'm totally hooked. The cinematic camera work and storytelling they do draws you right into the post-apocalyptic world.
It starts out with the crew just trying to fortify and survive as the zombie hordes attack each blood moon. But then the story expands as they find clues about "The Doctor" and have to venture out further to investigate the deep mysteries. The way they turn the survival gameplay into an immersive narrative is so entertaining.
And the characters! Simon is hilarious as always playing the clueless noob. Thick is brave but a bit reckless. Appsro is the grumpy pragmatist. Dora is the badass fighter. And Khaine is the wise, patient sensei guiding them all. The dialogue between them all is priceless.
The production values are top notch too. The custom camera angles make you feel like part of the action. The sound design builds tension. And the editing is sharp, moving the story along. It's like watching a post-apocalyptic movie at times.
I think Neebs Gaming is brilliant at making gameplay cinematic. No other gaming channel does it quite like them. Their 7 Days series especially stands out for having an engaging story woven seamlessly into the survival sandbox. It makes me want to play the game more, but also just keep watching to see what happens next episode.
If you're looking for a gaming series that is highly entertaining while also showing off a game at its best, you can't go wrong with Neebs Gaming in Darkness Falls. I'd say it's the definitive way to experience the game without actually playing it yourself. Check it out!
